Found property: Richmond Road
The staff at Planet Fitness reported June 24 that a loaded gun had been left inside a bag that was found on the gym floor. A customer had turned in the bag, but the staff did not initially look inside it.
It was learned through surveillance video that the bag belonged to a 48-year-old Mayfield Heights man. He is being charged with failure to secure a firearm.
Impaired driving: Multiple locations
A Euclid woman, 32, was arrested for OVI after her vehicle was stopped for weaving on Richmond Road around midnight June 26.
Also, around 3:45 a.m. that same day, officers observed a truck make a righthand turn onto Highland Road from a left turning lane on Richmond Road. They stopped the truck and found the driver to be under the influence. The 44-year-old Richmond Heights resident was subsequently charged with OVI.
Criminal damaging: Richmond Park Drive West
A resident of the 444 Park apartments reported June 23 that the driver’s side window on his car was smashed and pulled out of its frame. There was nothing missing from the car, and the man could not suggest who may have caused the damage.
Neighbor trouble: Highland Road
A woman, 91, said June 25 that a neighbor had a bounce house set up and had vehicles parked on her lawn. Officers spoke to the neighbor, who apologized and moved the items off the lawn.
Impaired driving: Highland Road
Officers responded to a three-car crash at the intersection of Richmond Road June 22 and learned that the driver of one car was responsible for the accident.
The 35-year-old Richmond Heights man was charged with OVI and texting while driving.
All three vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
